About the Designer:
Chef Björn Frantzén’s success is nothing short of phenomenal. After closing his two-star restaurant, he came back in full force with a new endeavor in his own name – and the stated goal of acquiring all three Michelin stars. Frantzén was awarded three stars, as the first and still only restaurant in Sweden, and in record time at that. In the time since, Björn Frantzén has branched out in Singapore – with Zén, also landing Guide Michelin’s highest rating – as well as London and Dubai. With all this in mind, Orrefors is honored and delighted to collaborate with Björn Frantzén and his skilled sommeliers on a new glassware collection, in all aspects befitting world-class dining.
Following the journey of glass from a syrupy, molten state to glittering crystal is a spectacular sight that takes place in the Orrefors hot shops every day.
Designers, glassblowers, cutters, painters and engravers play their part in this skilled work every day, and each glass from Orrefors is a unique and sophisticated piece of craftsmanship. By the time the finished glass leaves the glassworks, no fewer than 15 different people have contributed to the production process.
