About the Designer:
Jens Josefsson is a Swedish gin expert based in Denmark. An internationally recognized expert on gin, Josefesson is, among other things, the author of several books including "Swedish Gin - Drinks, distilleries and dreamers" and "Today’s Gin drink 2024". A member of the jury for "Gin & Tonic Awards Sweden" and a recent inductee into the renowned international forum “The Gin Guild”, Josefsson is an educated chef with a background in hotels and restaurants, but now runs a company in the IT industry. Alongside his wife, Emma Trollpil, Josefesson runs Gin Sweden, the national authority on gin development and production in Sweden.
Following the journey of glass from a syrupy, molten state to glittering crystal is a spectacular sight that takes place in the Orrefors hot shops every day.
Designers, glassblowers, cutters, painters and engravers play their part in this skilled work every day, and each glass from Orrefors is a unique and sophisticated piece of craftsmanship. By the time the finished glass leaves the glassworks, no fewer than 15 different people have contributed to the production process.
