The Hamsa is a Middle Eastern symbol of good luck intended to ward off evil and protect its wearer. Israeli designer Michal Golan integrates both the cultural importance and the mystical significations of the symbol in her Hamsa line. She invigorates the Hamsa through the use of gems, colors, and texture; while maintaining the original integrity of the Hamsa through traditional designs and shapes.

Each Michal Golan piece has the intricacy, attention to detail, and commitment to an aesthetic vision that one would expect from a piece of art. Michal was born in Haifa, Israel and came to the US in her twenties to study art. She began designing jewelry and selling it at craft fairs in order to support herself while completing a Masters degree in Studio Art at NYU. Demand for her jewelry quickly grew and in 1982 she launched Michal Golan Jewelry. Today the line has expanded! Shop the collection.
